The shipment of general goods and groceries is considered the most straight-forward activity. There are however, several ways to maximise the outturn quality of your goods.

Palletising and Shrink-Wrapping

Canned goods are easily damaged due to crushing. This can happen when loose loaded cartons in containers move about as a ship rocks around on the ocean. By simply palletising and shrink-wrapping these cartons, damage in this way is virtually eliminated.

Thermal Liners

In the South Pacific region, internal container temperatures can soar in the summer months. The skin of a shipping container is designed to keep out light, water and air... not heat. The purchase and fitting of thermal lining to the internal walls of a standard container can reduce heat radiation greatly. Some commodities that can benefit from this type of treatment include Beer and Wines, Muesli Bars, Confectionery and Pharmaceuticals.

Breakbulk
Commodities like toiletries, building products, cereals, canned foods, bulk foods like rice and wheat, personal effects, UHT milk, and most manufactured goods fall into this category. There are literally thousands of product lines classified as groceries.
In general, if a product being shipped does not require special treatment such as refrigeration or hazardous cargo declaration, it may be considered a grocery.
