Press Annoucement
Effective 1st September 2010, McKay Shipping Limited will transfer the Pacific Direct Line (PDL) NZ agency functions to Pacific Direct Line Limited.
McKay Shipping has a minority shareholding in PDL and, in turn, Pacific International Line (PIL) Singapore holds a shareholding in both New Zealand companies. The internalisation of the agency is an in house consolidation of processes & IT functions at PDL who will also employ transferring staff from McKay’s.
McKay Shipping have, since 1975, been involved in the Pacific Island trades as both ship owners & agents. The management of Pacific Direct Line has been trading in the region for more than 40 years. Currently PDL operates 9 vessels calling at 16 countries and 22 ports throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific.
PDL is also represented in 10 South Pacific countries by Transam Agencies, the PDL owned agency network which ensures a consistently high standard of customer service throughout the Pacific.
McKay Shipping and PDL will remain very close partners not only due to their long association or their cross-shareholding under the PIL umbrella but also due to their ongoing association for non liner activities throughout the Pacific.
We look forward to this exciting new development which will allow PDL to focus more directly on the needs of our valued customers.
For any further information on the planned changes please contact either McKays or PDL.
